Innovative products based on our experience

The-Founders Brigitte Reinhold und Achim Reinhold

We, Brigitte and Achim Reinhold, have always been fascinated by the outdoors and camping.
Already in our childhood, we loved to travel and the idea of exploring new campsites in many countries.

Nice to meet you!

Sharing this passion allowed us to go on many camping trips together, starting with a tent and a small VW bus. Throughout the years, our camping needs grew with our steadily growing family.

We changed to a small caravan and soon realised that we needed more space with three very active children. After many setups of all sorts of caravan tents and campers, we gained a lot of experience with various camping ways.

Today, we go camping with our motorhome ‘Peggy mobile’ and visit many fairs all over Europe. While camping, we always encountered common problems. For example, bending of common tent pegs, notwithstanding heavy wind conditions, having to hammer in every single peg, flapping of the awnings, tripping over the tent carpet, sinking of the tent/awning poles and facing various ground types in which many times no peg would go in at all.

Our enthusiasm has led us to develop our Peggy Peg brand. We created a wide range of products to enhance everyone’s camping experience. While developing our pegs, we always kept the following key features in mind; make them stronger, lighter, easily recognizable, height-adjustable, durable and innovative

Peggy Peg expands!

Our children grew up camping already from a young age on; so, we certainly handed this passion over to them, as you can clearly read in their travel choices.

Our daughter Samy and boyfriend Gerard had the opportunity to travel and camp around Australia in 2016/2017, and obviously they fell in love with the country and the camping experience. Ever since, they can be found on the road, embarking on new camping adventures. They constantly seek for new camping and hiking adventures.

And so does our son Alan, who goes on yearly camping trips with either his friends or girlfriend. In 2020, he did an eventful tour in the South of France and in 2021 an extremely long trip across Austria, Italy, Greece, Serbia and Croatia. Alan loves camping for the freedom and opportunities it gives him. "Everyday you meet new people from all around and can relax on the most beautiful camping spots".

One thing the three can definitely agree on is that they gain loads of experience about our products and for new product development while being away on their adventures.

EASY CAMPING

Screwing instead of hammering - the idea was not new to tent pegs, but what has developed from it since the founding of the company Peggy Peg Innovative Systems is unique in the world of camping accessories. All around the world, Peggy Peg is recognized by camping lovers to be the best screw-in peg on the market.

The easily recognized blue and orange coloured Peggy Peg range is much appreciated for its simplicity and versatility.
Made from nylon reinforced fibreglass, Peggy Pegs are five times lighter than a comparable metal peg. This considerably reduces the weight you have to carry with you.
The big variability of ground types that it can be used in, combined with its superior holding power, makes the Peggy Peg the perfect camping companion.
All our products are developed in Germany and focus on being a multifunctional and combinable system.

Questions About Anchor Plates

The storm hook can be inserted from the bottom to the top through one of the four square holes in the anchor plate. Once inserted, guy lines or storm straps can be attached. These can be secured either directly downward to minimize tripping hazards or at a 45° angle if space permits.

The Anchor Plate 2.0 PP16 is designed for box-style awnings from brands such as Fiamma, Thule, and Dometic, and it can also be adapted for Awnlux awnings

Normal/Grass Conditions:

We recommend using Peg&Stop screws, specifically PP01 or PP04 for softer or wetter conditions. For optimal stability, use three pegs per plate arranged in a triangular formation: one peg in the center and two pegs on the opposite side in the outer holes.

Stones or Tough Conditions:

For rocky or difficult terrain, use the HP61 or HP60 screw-in pegs. For optimal results, hammer the HP61 pegs into the ground. The HP60 pegs can be installed using an impact driver. In these conditions, we recommend using two pegs per plate, placing them diagonally in the outer holes.

Sand / Beach:

For securing plates on the beach, we recommend using four pegs per plate. Consider using our Long PP12 or Long Aluminium PP13 pegs in combination with either the PP04 or PP01 screws.

First, determine where the awning leg will be placed and mark the center of the open hole using the L or LA peg. Temporarily remove the plate, then screw in the peg. If the sand is very fine, remove the top layer of sand for better grip before inserting the peg.

Once the peg is in place, reattach the plate using the open hole. Use either the PP04 or PP01 screws for the other three holes, ensuring a total of four pegs per plate.

Although not directly compatible, we've created a useful adapter called the Fix&Go Adapter! You can use the Fix&Go Adapter to make the most common poles fit into the Anchor Plate 2.0

The most common awning producers: Fiamma, Thule & Omnistor will most likely fit into our Fix&Go Anchor plate. Unfortunately, there are some exceptions. If you are unsure, please contact us via; service-uk@peggypeg.comand we will answer asap.

Questions about the Tie Strap and the Storm Strap

1.     Insert blue T-connector into your awning rail

2.     Click on the strap and twist the strap to eliminate
buzzing sounds and flapping in the wind

3.     Screw directly through the eyelet with the fitting Peggy screw peg for the ground

4.     If it doesn’t go in all the way just click the hook on top of the spring eyelet to hold it down at the lowest position

Simply twist the strap a few times before securing it to the ground.

Extendable from 1.5-3m

Most importantly, place the screw through the eyelet of the Tie-strap 2.0. This creates an enclosed system that cannot undo itself. Here, you can find an elaborate explanation of which peg to use for each ground type!

The Tie-strap can be used in three different ways:

1. Slide the T-connector into the keder or awning rail.
2. Utilize the hole in the T-connector by inserting a spike or pin through it and then strap it downwards.
3. We offer a handy accessory called the U-connector, which allows you to connect the Tie-strap 2.0 to a Crocodile Peggy. Simply open the lever of the Crocodile and clamp it onto the material of your awning or onto a strap of the awning.

Questions about our Pegs

Normal / Grass Conditions:
- Recommendations for Tent, traps and groundsheets, consider using our PP05 or PP02 screws.
- If you're using our anchor plates, we recommend the PP01, PP04, or HP60 screws.

For Sandy Conditions:
- Our Long Screws or Long Aluminium Pegs work effectively in sandy conditions. For optimal results, scoop a handful of the dry, loose sand from the surface and secure it into the firmer, well-compacted, slightly damp sub-level sand.
- In firmer and compacted sand, the PP02 and PP04 screws may also work, but please test them to ensure effectiveness.

For Rocky or Tough Conditions:
- We recommend using the HP61 or HP60 screws.
- For the best results, hammer the HP61 screws into the ground, and when you're finished, simply unscrew them.
- The HP60 is designed to be used safely with an impact driver. In these conditions, just drive it into the ground as far as it will go.
- If you prefer to use our regular pegs in rocky conditions, please drill a pilot hole first and utilise our height-adjustable system in case the pegs stop forward.

All Peggy Pegs feature a 17mm hex head. This includes the PP05 Small Peg, PP02 Standard Peg, PP12 Long Peg, PP13 Long Aluminium Peg, and HP61 Hardcore Pegs (which are hammer-in and screw-out).

Our pegs are made of polyamide reinforced with fiberglass, aluminum, or marine-grade stainless steel.

Our pegs do not need to be fully screwed into the ground because they are height adjustable. Once you feel the peg begin to grip the ground, you can stop screwing it in further. At this point, you can either clip the hook onto the lowest spot on the peg or tighten the locknut to secure the anchor plate.

Any tool with a 17mm hex head can be used to screw the pegs in and out. While some caravan stabiliser legs may use a 17mm hex head, others do not, so it's important to check your specific setup. Alternatively, you can opt for our Combitool HP68, which allows you to either use it by hand or with a cordless drill.

We recommend avoiding the use of rattle guns or impact drivers for our regular pegs (PP01, PP02, PP04, PP05) due to their limitations in adjusting and reducing torque settings.

However, our heavy-duty HP60 screws are safe to use with impact drivers.

The Small Peggy Peg (PP05) is primarily designed for securing floor matting, ground sheets, or mudflaps. In challenging conditions, please pre-drill a pilot hole using a 6mm masonry drill bit, which can also be found in the starter kit.

When developing our pegs, we really wanted to make sure that they were lightweight and held better than regular pegs/screws. We discovered that the thread of the peg is more critical for providing grip, and holding the peg in the ground, than the maximum torque spec, which is used to tighten and drive them in. Therefore, we recommend not to exceed the torque spec of our pegs.
Each comes with a maximum which is displayed on their package as well. Using too much force (torque), you risk snapping the peg.

N = 25Nm
L = 30Nm
LA = 70Nm
HC = 70Nm
S = 5Nm

Our Hardcore Pegs are specifically designed for extremely hard and dry ground conditions. They feature a completely different thread compared to our other screw-in pegs. The Hardcore Pegs (HP61) are intended to be hammered in and screwed out. Unlike other pegs that have cutting and compressing threads, the thread of the Hardcore Pegs is uniquely designed for rocky conditions where cutting or compressing the ground is not possible.

As a result, the Hardcore Pegs HP61 may not hold as well in hard ground as other screws do in grass conditions.

We offer two different sizes of hooks and two types of lock nuts:

- The smaller hook is designed for use with the Normal PP02 Peg.
- The larger hook is compatible with our Large PP12, Large Aluminium PP13, and Hardcore Peggy HP61.

Regarding the lock nuts: both types fit all Peg&Stop screws. The heavy-duty HP60 screws come with the newer Lock Nut 2.0, which combines the functionalities of the hooks and lock nuts.

1.     Go for a walk or camp with your dog or cat and pick a
nice spot

2.     Put the spring on the ground and screw the PetPeg
through the spring

3.     Only screw as far as the PetPeg forwards. Once the
screw-peg grips, you can stop screwing, the thread has compressed into the
ground due to its cutting and compressing thread. The PetPeg does not need
to be completely screwed into the ground as we are working with our height
adjustment here.

4.     Now hook the carabiner to the leash of your dog or cat and enjoy the tranquillity of your destination

Questions about the Crocodile PEGGY®

Crocodile
One Product - Endless Possibilities

For Holding Down Carpet:

1. Open the lever and twist it counterclockwise to release.
2. Insert the carpet material in the desired position between the two plates.
3. Twist the lever a couple of times (there’s no need to twist too often, as the pressure increases once it’s locked down).
4. Use the appropriate Peggy screw peg for the ground conditions to secure the carpet in place.

**For Hanging from a Sail Track** (Croc-Adapter needed):

1. Slide the Croc-Adapter into the sail track.
2. Hook the Crocodile onto the Croc-Adapter button until it clicks into place.
3. You can now hang items to dry or create quick shade using a larger towel or material.

The Crocodile can also be connected to the Tie-strap 2.0 using our U-connector. This setup can be used for a tarp, your gazebo, or a 270° awning, among other applications.

* U-Connector Required

To start, unhook the T-connector and replace it with our U-connector. Next, attach a crocodile clip, and you're done! You can now use the crocodile clip as intended—simply clamp it onto the desired anchor point or material. This setup is perfect for creating sunshades, storm straps, or securing tarps in stormy conditions.

The Crocodile Peg is crafted from reinforced, UV-resistant plastic and features a design free of sharp edges. The clip's teeth are rounded, ensuring safety and preventing any jagged or sharp points.

What makes these clips secure is the adjustable jaw pressure, which allows you to customize it according to the material and conditions. This adaptability helps minimize any potential damage.

Questions about the Anti Flap

To use our Anti-Flap, you will need rafter poles on both ends of your awning to support the weight of the Anti-Flap and provide additional grip. Please follow these steps:

1. **Install rafter poles** on both the right and left sides of the awning.
2. **Clamp the awning fabric** between the cushions of the Anti-Flap.
3. **Twist the lever** a few times and lock it into position to keep the awning fabric secure.
4. **Wrap the silicone straps** around the rafter pole to hold it in place. Does not need to be super tight! The first or second hole will be sufficient.
5. If you have side walls, instead of using silicone straps, insert the T-Connector from the Tie Strap into the sail track of the Anti-Flap and secure it to the ground with the strap.

By following these steps, you can ensure proper installation and functionality of the Anti-Flap.

In this case, we developed the product to be compatible with our Tie-Strap, which you can slide into the railing of the Anti-flap when the lever is opened. When the lever is closed, the T-connector will be secured and is prevented from moving out of the rail.

To attach the Anti-flap, you need to obtain extra rafter poles from your awning manufacturer. Your awning already includes one pole to support the middle of the awning fabric.

Questions about the Fix&Go Adapter 'Puffer'

The Fix&Go Adapter is compatible with poles that have an inner diameter of 18 to 27 mm.

Although we still need to conduct official strength testing, we have already seen some impressive results with both the 3D printed version and, even more so, with the final product! When properly connected, we couldn’t pull them apart, even with two adults applying full force!
